The Memorial Foundation is the supporting foundation for Memorial Hospital. It is a publicly supported organization, doing business as an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.
The Foundation raises funds through strategic planning and goal setting. To fulfill our mission, we seek charitable donations from the community and from other foundations. We then direct those funds to health care education and services to benefit the whole community.
Yes! All gifts are used as the donor directs and in support of creating a healthy community in support of our local families, friends and neighbors.
The Memorial Foundation raises funds to support multiple programs throughout Memorial's Family of Services. As steward of the funds raised, The Memorial Foundation's Board of Trustees (a volunteer board of community members) approves program allocations in September of each year, for funding in the next fiscal year (Nov 1 - Oct 31).
They carefully review each application and work with Hospital administrators to explore all options for funding sources before determining our ability or appropriateness to fund each request.
89% of total donations are used to support local healthcare programs and services. Click here and see for yourself!
An independent auditor analyzes our books each year. Our corporate tax form 990 is filed each year with the IRS. You are welcome to review it here.
No. We pay sales tax on every product and service we purchase.
The Memorial Foundation provides funding for programs and services provided by Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. We do not provide funding/assistance on an individual basis.
Please contact the Business Services office at 509-575-8255 if your medical service was provided by a Memorial Family of Services partner, i.e., Memorial Hospital, North Star Lodge, etc.
You can find all of the information you will need to hold your event on our Host An Event page.
All gifts made through The Memorial Foundation stay local as we are a separate 501(c)3. Virginia Mason has its own foundation, which is located in Seattle.
